Public Compliance & Ethics

Our Commitment to Ethics, Transparency, and Compliance
Modern Law Ecosystem (“MLE”) is built on a simple principle: legal judgment belongs to licensed attorneys. Everything else—intake, workflow, documentation support, research, and technology—can be delivered ethically, transparently, and efficiently without practicing law.
This page explains how Modern Law Ecosystem operates, what we do, and—just as importantly—what we do not do.

What Modern Law Ecosystem Is
Modern Law Ecosystem is not a law firm.
We are a legal operations and support platform that:
-
helps route individuals and businesses to licensed attorneys,
-
provides administrative, research, documentation, and paralegal support under attorney supervision,
-
and offers technology and workflow infrastructure to attorneys nationwide.
We do not provide legal advice.
We do not represent clients.
We do not make legal decisions.

What Modern Law Ecosystem Is Not
Modern Law Ecosystem does not:
-
give legal opinions or recommendations,
-
determine legal strategy,
-
negotiate on behalf of clients,
-
sign or file legal documents,
-
appear in court,
-
or establish attorney-client relationships.
Only licensed attorneys perform those functions.

Attorney-Client Relationships
All attorney-client relationships are formed solely between a client and a licensed attorney.
Modern Law Ecosystem:
-
is not a party to those relationships,
-
does not interfere with them,
-
and does not control legal judgment or outcomes.
Attorneys in our ecosystem operate independent practices and remain fully responsible for compliance with their jurisdiction’s ethical rules.

Intake and Routing
When individuals contact Modern Law Ecosystem, we may collect basic information for administrative intake purposes only, such as:
-
the type of legal issue,
-
the jurisdiction involved,
-
whether a lawsuit or demand has been received.
This information is used only to help route the matter to an appropriate attorney. Intake staff do not evaluate legal merits, give advice, or suggest legal strategies.

Paralegals and Support Staff
Paralegals and support staff affiliated with Modern Law Ecosystem:
-
do not practice law,
-
do not give legal advice,
-
and do not act independently of attorney supervision.
When paralegals assist on matters, they do so at the direction of a licensed attorney, consistent with applicable ethical rules.

Financial Transparency
Clients retain and pay attorneys directly under separate engagement agreements.
Attorneys may separately contract with Modern Law Ecosystem for operational support services such as:
-
paralegal assistance,
-
research,
-
document preparation,
-
and technology access.
Modern Law Ecosystem does not:
-
receive a percentage of legal fees,
-
participate in contingency arrangements,
-
or share in legal outcomes.

Nationwide and Forward-Looking
Modern Law Ecosystem is designed to operate across jurisdictions while respecting local ethical requirements. We monitor evolving rules, including Alternative Business Structure (ABS) developments, and design our platform to remain compliant as legal services modernize.

Transparency as Policy
We operate openly. We document our processes. We welcome questions from attorneys, regulators, and the public.
Our goal is not to replace lawyers—but to support them, reduce friction, and expand access to competent legal representation.
